Cheltenham Champion Hurdle Day Hospitality |
Tuesday 13th March 2012 |
| Champion Hurdle Day is the opening day of the Festival and many think this is one of the best days. There are seven important races and the atmosphere on this first day is electric and is epitomized by the roar that welcomes the flag fall of the first race. Whilst numbers will not be as many as for Gold Cup Day, there will still be an amazing atmosphere and with some room to move around. Over the years, all days of the Cheltenham Festival are as popular for hospitality and the Tuesday is no exception. |
 |
The two main races of the day are the Champion Hurdle, which was won last year by Hurricane Fly and the Arkle Chase, which was won by Captain Chris. Both of these horses will be back in 2012, with Hurricane Fly defending his crown and Captain Chris either going for the Champion Chase or the Gold Cup.
