British Open Golf 2012 – Royal Lytham & St Annes, Lancashire

The Open Golf Championship in 2012 will be hosted at the Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Course in Lancashire. 

The course is surrounded by suburban housing and flanked by a railway line, but has a charm all of its own. It is a Links Course that is a long way from the sea, yet close enough for the sea breeze to impact on a player’s game. It was aptly described by Bernard Darwin, the leading golf writer of the thirties, as 'a beast of a course, but a just beast'. He went on to say that 'no one could fail to be impressed by its difficulties, which sets a golfer just about as ruthless an examination as any course of my acquaintance'.

In 2011 the British Open set many challenges to the top ranked golfers, with Darren Clarke finishing three shots ahead of American pair Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson in a nail-biting final day.

Our hospitality is situated within the Hospitality Village offering views of the 15th Fairway. We have three hospitality packages suitable for all types of dining experiences.

The Open Champions Restaurant offers an informal dining experience located within the tented village. This facility provides easy access to the course and is the perfect place to relax with friends, family or clients.

The Open Guest Restaurant is located on the ground floor of a new two tier facility overlooking the 15th fairway. You will enjoy a full day of golfing hospitality. On arrival you will be served a classic golfer’s breakfast followed by a four course lunch, traditional English afternoon tea and, of course, a full service bar is available throughout the day.

The Open Clubhouse Restaurant is our premier package, located in an elevated position on the top floor of our two tier structure. This provides exceptional views across this magnificent golf course. Follow your favourite player on the links and then retire to the comfort and sanctuary of our clubhouse-style restaurant, with an informal area for eating and relaxing throughout the day.

A substantial choice from the a la carte menu is available for guests who can also graze from the scrumptious live cooking theatre selection. The chef will use local and national produce to create some exciting dishes.

Private chalets are available for groups of 30 or 50 guests.
