FIFA World Cup Qualifiers
 With
the 2006 Fifa World Cup well into the qualifying matches England
can hold their heads up high after having qualified after
winning their battle with Poland recently.
The first nation of football and the global distributor
of the game, England hold some pride of place with supporters
around the world. Despite a long and sometimes bittersweet
history with the sport for which they first determined the
rules, the English are inevitably a talented and hard-working
side with the ability to beat the best in any given match.
Beckham and the others are no doubt desperate to prove the
world that they can get over the hump when the pressure is
on at Germany 2006.
Eight venues will each host five matches, while Berlin, Dortmund,
Munich and Stuttgart will each have the honour of an extra
sixth match. In addition, each venue will play host to two
matches featuring one of the top-seeded teams.
